Volunteer Spotlight
Don Cameron has consistently answered the call to care for his neighbors through service as part of the Neighborhood Rehab Project (NRP) volunteers. In November 2023, he joined four other volunteers to climb onto a roof in a Golden manufactured home park, installing a tarp to protect a 93-year-old resident and his hardworking son, who works as a janitor at Colorado School of Mines. Their roof was in severe disrepair, described as looking like “Swiss cheese,” with buckets scattered throughout the home to catch rainwater.
In April 2024, Don stepped up once again—this time helping dig holes for the pilings of a ramp built for a single mother suffering from chronic back problems, ensuring she could safely access her home. Beyond his hands-on volunteer work, Don is also a monthly financial supporter of NRP, serves on the boards of other nonprofits, and contributes his leadership as a member of the Golden City Council.
Be A Tool is deeply grateful for Don’s ongoing commitment and proudly recognizes him for his dedication to serving his community.
