About Golden Hills Mobile Home Park
Located at 215 Cheyenne Street in Golden, Colorado, Golden Hills is a welcoming, all-ages neighborhood of approximately 40 homes.
In 2023, the residents made history by purchasing the park themselves, creating the Golden Hills Community Cooperative. With support from local nonprofits and the City of Golden, the community transformed from investor-owned housing into a resident-owned cooperative, preserving affordable housing for generations to come.
Today, every resident is more than a neighbor—they are a co-owner of the community.
Why Resident Ownership Matters
Golden Hills stands as an inspiring example of what can happen when neighbors work together.
After facing significant rent increases and uncertainty under private ownership, residents united to purchase the land beneath their homes. Their efforts helped secure permanent affordable housing while giving residents a direct voice in how their neighborhood is managed.
As a resident-owner, you'll enjoy:
Long-term housing stability.
Community ownership instead of corporate landlords.
A voice in neighborhood decisions.
Shared responsibility for maintaining and improving the community.
Pride in helping preserve affordable homeownership in Golden.
Community Living
Golden Hills is governed by its residents through an elected cooperative board.
Community members work together to:
Establish neighborhood bylaws and policies.
Make decisions about the future of the community.
Organize volunteer clean-up and improvement days.
Hire professional management for larger maintenance projects.
Build a welcoming, family-friendly neighborhood for everyone.
Is This Opportunity Right for You?
If you're looking for more than a place to live—if you want to invest in your neighbors, contribute to a thriving community, and help preserve affordable housing in Golden—we encourage you to apply.
